Step 2 - Using FDISK - Option 2. Set Active Partition
Option 2 - Set Active Partition

This option allows you to specify the Primary bootable partition on your drive.

Caution! Since only one primary partition can be bootable, be careful that you understand which partition you are applying this option to or you may be unable to boot to your hard drive properly.

FDISK will present you with a list of partitions that you can make active. Enter the number of the partition that you want to make active and press [ENTER].

If the partition is successfully set as active, you will see the following screen where FDISK tells you that the partition you chose has been made active.
