Step 2 - Using FDISK - Option 1. Create DOS Partition or Logical DOS Drive

Create Logical DOS Drive(s) in the Extended DOS Partition

Once you have an extended partition in place, you will want to allocate one or more logical drives within it so that you can start to use the drive.

Choosing Option 3 - 'Create Logical DOS Drive(s) in the Extended DOS Partition' will allow you to choose how much of the Extended partition you want to use as a logical drive.

Enter a figure in Megabytes that is equal to or less than the space available or alternatively you can allocate a percentage.

In this example all of the 1992Mb of free space is being allocated to the new logical drive.

You will be presented with a display of the new logical drive once it has been allocated in the extended partition.

You can continue allocating free space in the Extended DOS partitions until it is all used up by repeating the procedure in this example.
