Hardware Icon Physically Installing New Hardware

Installing a hardware card (Internal modem, sound card, graphics card etc)

Holding the card carefully by it's edges making sure not to touch the circuitry.

Push the card firmly into the correct slot using even, downward pressure until the card snaps into position.
If you feel a lot of resistance, it is sometimes better to remove the card, check the keying of the slot and the card, then try to insert it again.

Do not try and force the card into place!
You will run the risk of damaging not only the card, but also the motherboard. An expensive mistake to make for the sake of throwing caution to the four winds!
