My name is Chris Grant
and I started Techrescue.net in early 2001 as a project to
test my ASP coding skills.
In the last four years, Techrescue.net has
grown to be very popular and has helped many more people than
I could ever have imagined.
My philosophy is to make the site as simple
and easy to understand as possible, avoiding over use of technical
terms or providing reference to the dictionary wherever a
technical term is unavoidable.
The Techrescue.net Guides were written by
me to provide as detailed an instruction set on the subject
as possible. Hopefully they will appeal to, and be understood,
by everyone from a beginner to a techie alike.
Please let me know if you would like to
see any more guides on other subjects.
Techrescue.net has had over 36,000 visitors
a month in it's prime. I hope it will continue to provide
help and advice to everyone who visits.
The one thing I am short of is time so if
you feel you can spare some time to help out or would like
to write an article then please send me an email with your
details and/or contribution.
Please feel free to let me know
(Good or bad, although please make it constructive rather
than a torrent of abuse - yes I have had some like this before
and it ain't very helpful). I can only improve on something
if someone is prepared to tell me what works and what doesn't
so please don't be shy!
This site is dedicated to my late Dad, David
Grant, without whom I would never have become interested
in computers, never become a Programmer or an IT Project Manager
and never had the knowledge to pass on to others as I hope
this site will.
My only wish is that he had been here to see it grow into
the helpful resource it has become.
I know he would certainly have contributed
to the content and found it useful himself.
